The discussion following the screening will be surtitled in French

Solidarity is often invoked but rarely fully assumed. What happens when it is put into practice through concrete struggles - feminist, LGBTQIA+, anti-racist or in solidarity with Palestine - and comes with conflict, rupture and risk?

Solidarity is often presented as a shared moral value. Yet when it is put into practice – through struggles against racism, patriarchy, class violence, heterosexist norms or colonialism – it rarely unfolds without tension. This discussion considers solidarity as a situated political practice: supporting without speaking over others, taking positions without equivocation, and acting without seeking validation. How can anger, rupture or refusal be channelled into collective power? And what does solidarity mean when power relations also shape relationships with allies to the cause?

In the presence of the director.

Dockworkers

Portuali

Between 2019 and 2023, the C.A.L.P., an autonomous collective of dockworkers in Genoa, organised strikes and blockades to prevent the transport of weapons, defend workplace safety and revive a tradition of militant trade unionism. The film follows the relentless struggle of José, Riccardo and Bruno, figures who embody this resistance, as they engage in political action, solidarity and confrontation with industrial and state powers. Their commitment reveals the political and human cost of this struggle.
