In a city on the brink of collapse, thirty-eight-year-old Adelaida buries her mother and finds herself completely alone. On the streets of Caracas, protests are violently repressed. When she returns home, she discovers that her apartment has been taken over by women close to the regime. To survive, she will be forced to relinquish her identity. Adapted from the novel It Would Be Night in Caracas, the film goes beyond depicting the Venezuelan exodus to explore a more universal question: the right to exist.
