SHE

Image du film SHE - FIFDH 2023

Impact Statement
We aim to bring the film to Vietnamese female workers, using it as a catalyst not only to raise awareness but also to drive policy changes in Vietnam and South Korea. We believe the film has the potential to inspire new forms of worker self-organization. Our vision includes organizing meetings where workers can connect with trade unions outside factory environments, establishing information points in industrial suburbs—managed by trade unions or NGOs—where workers can learn about their rights, and promoting the establishment of a local observatory to monitor factory conditions. Additionally, we plan to support trade unions in campaigns to train both representatives and workers, using the film as a visual training tool to enhance these efforts. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower workers and foster meaningful change.

WE stand for workers’ and women rights. Our goal is to contribute to improving work conditions within big electronic corporations, producing all over the world, overall in Vietnam and South Korea.
Impact Goals
  1. Promote 40 hours working week for all in the electronics industry in Asia, a limited use of overtime work and higher basic wages.
  2. Promote awareness campaigns to use consumer pressure to force TNCs to improve working conditions throughout the entire supply chain. A strong emphasis on the gender dimension and the specific conditions of women workers (who consititute the large majority of workers in electronics).
  3. Promote an alliance among Trade Unions, NGOs and ethically-oriented consumer groups to support workers in electronics.
  4. Promote a specific campaign in Vietnam and South Korea to support electronics workers in cooperation with trade unions.
Impact Strategy
  • Promote an internarional/European campaign on "bloody electronics" supporting sustainable supply chains - in cooperation with NGOs, Trade Unions and academia.
  • Starting point is to create a Museums of Industry and Labour in Vietnam and South Korea.
  • Targeting ILO to promote tripartite dialogue in Southeast Asian countries on wages and working hours.
  • Create international magazine and podcast, with poems, interviews and article by workers.
  • A targeted campaign for the European Parliament - supporting decent work in electronics as criterium for trade agreements.
