Imagine Peace
Hundred-year-old Edith Ballantyne fled from the Nazis in 1938 and found her purpose as president of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. As an ally of the United Nations, she shaped the international peace movement and brought millions of people onto the streets for disarmament. Deeply concerned by escalating conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, she continued to call for dialogue until the end of her life. IMAGINE PEACE carries her legacy forward, ensuring her voice lives on beyond her 102 years.

Impact Statement
In a time marked by escalating conflicts, polarization and militarization, voices advocating for peace, dialogue and de-escalation are increasingly marginalized. International cooperation is being weakened, arms spending is rising, and multilateral institutions are increasingly questioned. Peacebuilding is often perceived as naive rather than as essential ongoing work. Imagine Peace responds to this alarming shift by reminding us that peace is not the absence of conflict, but a collective effort that must be actively maintained. The film offers historical perspective and renewed urgency for investing in dialogue, cooperation and shared responsibility.
