The Last Republican
Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger jeopardises his career in public service by insisting that Donald Trump be held responsible for the events of 6 January 2021, culminating in the storming of the Capitol. This decision has profound consequences for both his loved ones and his 12-year engagement with the Republican Party. Formerly a staunch defender of conservative values, Kinzinger transforms into a fierce critic of Trump, becoming the first lawmaker to call for his removal from office. The film is partly set in the context of the House of Representatives Committee of Inquiry into the attack on the Capitol. Steve Pink seizes the opportunity to question Kinzinger about his political views. Over the course of their conversation, an unexpected friendship emerges.
