Draw for Change : We Are Fire
Rue du Général-Dufour 16 1204 Geneva
Through the drawings she shares on her Instagram account, Mar Maremoto sketches women who resemble her: dissident, assertive and vulnerable. The Mexican illustrator tackles issues relating to feminism, the rights of LGBTIQ+ people, but also mental health and self love. In a country plagued by an epidemic of femicides and gender-based violence, art emerges as a platform from which to fight back and heal collectively.
Screening followed by a discussion on gender-based violence in Mexico and art as a means of resistance. In the presence of director Karen Vazquez Guadarrama and protagonist Mar Maremoto.
