In the age of information overload, even quality films with strong social impact potential can struggle to reach their target audiences.
In parallel to traditional distribution, some organisations are successfully taking thought-provoking documentaries to more specific audiences; whether these are human rights allies already familiar with this type of content, affected communities with little or no access to cinemas or the internet, or people not at all engaged with – or even hostile to – the issues covered.
This outreach requires creative thinking and alliances across a range of platforms and organisations. In this panel we will discuss various initiatives from around the globe, where diversified partnerships have led to creative and effective outreach.
