Helena Maleno is a Spanish journalist, writer, researcher and human rights defender. Based in Morocco, she is the founder of Caminando Fronteras, an association that defends the rights of migrants. She was prosecuted by the Moroccan authorities for promoting illegal immigration and human trafficking before the charges against her were dropped in March 2019.
