Impact Update: My Name is Happy
This poignant film, which campaigns against feminicide, continues to echo Mutlu’s voice and that of all women fighting for this cause through strategic screenings.
Since its award-winning participation at Impact Days, where it was awarded the StoryBoard Collective’s Impact Fund, and at the FIFDH, where it won the PBI Youth Jury Prize in the Creative Documentary competition, My Name is Happy has continued to build on its promising impact journey.
To mark Iamaneh‘s 45th anniversary the International Association for Maternal and Neonatal Health will screen My Name is Happy as the opening film of its festival, FEMMES!. The festival will run to coincide with the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. This annual and international UN Women campaign kicks off on November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until December 10th, Human Rights Day.
Building on this momentum, the directors of My Name is Happy are now collaborating with WILPF – Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom – to promote the film and its impact progress. This collaboration is the outcome of a curated meeting with the NGO at Impact Days 2023.
