Impact Statement
At least 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone female genital mutilation. An additional 2 million girls could be at risk by 2030 due to COVID-19, resulting in a 33 per cent reduction in the progress toward ending this harmful practice. Our final goal is to create an environment for meaningful audience engagement and post-screening discussion. For the general African audience, especially in the rural areas, the goal is to empower each and every single individual to make a change by taking action. For the broader Western audience, we will advise how they can support efficient NGOs in this field - focusing on local organizations.
