Omen

After 15 years of absence, Koffi returns to the Congo to introduce his pregnant wife Alice to his family. His stay is marked by various encounters involving witchcraft. In a phantasmagorical Africa, the protagonists, through unexpected adventures, find a way to help each other break their curse. Filled with magical realism, Baloji’s debut feature is a powerful ode to formal creativity that questions the issue of patriarchy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
