Competition - Fiction

Los Silencios

by Beatriz Seigner

The young Nuria flees the civil war in Colombia. She arrives at dawn on a mysterious island in the furthest reaches of the Amazon. Nuria gradually understands that her father, who supposedly died in a landslide caused by an oil company, may be hiding in their house. The violence and collective memory of Latin America intertwine in this bewitching film, tinged with magical realism. Cinema release in Romandie: May 1, 2019
