A State of Passion

For 43 days, under constant bombardment and working around the clock, British-Palestinian reconstructive surgeon Dr Ghassan Abu Sittah found himself on the front lines in the emergency wards of Gaza’s Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals. Images of him soon spread across the globe, capturing a figure who had come to embody resistance. After a long and terrifying night-time journey out of Gaza, Ghassan arrives in Amman, where the film’s directors, Carol Mansour and Muna Khalidi, await him eagerly. The camera starts rolling the moment he walks through the door, and follows him to Beirut, London, Kuwait, and Dubai, documenting his unwavering commitment to Palestine and its people.
