5 Seasons of Revolution

Lina, a young filmmaker and freelance reporter, dedicates herself to documenting the Syrian revolution. To evade the regime’s surveillance, she operates under numerous aliases—known at different times as Lina, Maya, Layla, or Lama. Travelling from Damascus to Aleppo, and passing through Homs, she captures footage of the uprising and the subsequent brutal crackdown. Through covertly recorded video and testimony, she recounts the personal stories of her group of friends, each one fighting for their freedom and for their country’s autonomy. Over these five seasons of revolution, her loved ones are arrested or targeted by Bashar al-Assad’s government. Despite the increasing risks, Lina continues to place herself on the front lines to expose the regime’s brutality.
