There's Still Tomorrow
Delia is Ivano’s wife and the mother of three children. Wife and mother are the roles that define her, and that is enough for her. It is the 1940s and this ordinary family lives in Rome, a city divided between the joyous momentum of liberation and the misery of the war just behind them. Ivano is the head of the family: he works hard to bring home what little money there is, never fails to make a point of this, and often committing acts of physical abuse. But the arrival of a letter will encourage Delia to find the strength to envisage a better future. A blend of drama, comedy and music, this unique film celebrates the road to female emancipation, past and present. Directed and starring the remarkable Paola Cortellesi, it has become a phenomenon in Italy, applauded by critics and audiences alike.
