Elles, les (in)visibles

There are an estimated 12,000 undocumented migrants in Geneva, 80% of whom are women working in care economy. They clean our offices and homes, they look after our parents and children. They have left their country for a better life, and find themselves illegal while keeping the global economy going. Yet they are invisible. Who are they? What is their story? Elles les (in)visibles is a feature-length documentary about the condition of undocumented care workers women in Geneva and the pilot regularization project Operation Papyrus through the stories of four women. While the film deals with the Geneva context, it equally situates the issue more broadly using these women’s lived experiences as a reflection of global dynamics.
