A Fox Under a Pink Moon
Rue du Général-Dufour 16, 1204 Geneva
Soraya, a 16-year-old Afghan artist, spent five years documenting her attempts to escape Iran and join her mother in Austria using her mobile phone. The film combines personal videos, animations and sculptures, portraying Soraya’s determination to carve out her own path. Between scenes of escape, singing and dancing, it reveals her courage in the face of a violent husband and a conservative, sexist and patriarchal society, while showing how essential art is to her survival.
