In Israel, children are taught that when they turn 18, they will join the army. Seen by the government as the only way to defend itself against the Palestinians, the army is omnipresent in society. Against this backdrop, some young Israelis are demanding a peaceful approach to the conflict, and refuse to become soldiers. The film follows 19-year-old Atalya in her quest for truth and her conscientious objector process, which led to several months in prison. Through her demands, she embodies the commitment of young people who dare to say no in the hope of change. In Switzerland, too, conscientious objectors were imprisoned until 1996.
