Deconstructing adult domination According to French statistics, in 2020, over 90% of reported violence against children was perpetrated by close family members. Such domination bears down especially hard on LGBTQIA+ young people, whose gender identities or sexual orientations are often questioned. Should we not instead trust young people’s capacity for self-determination? Rethinking institutions could open the way to a society where they are truly recognised as political actors in their own right.
