Climate Exodus
Éxodo Climático

Climate Exodus narrates the tragedy of three women who have lost everything due to climate change and now emigrate to start a new life. Lobuin struggles every day to find the last water supply so that she can survive in Turkana (Kenya), where it does not rain anymore. Nazma lost her crop in Ghoramara (India) due to the sea level change. Soil salinity has made her land barren. Tornadoes and violent hurricanes punish the Saint Martin Island in the Caribbean, where Vanesa has lost her house while her neighbours have lost their lives.

Impact Statement
The film has an honest and transformative gaze that aims to emphasize the need to act, to take a stance, and to educate audiences about the severity of the climate challenge. Our film dismantles the negationist discourses. All three women represent the drama of millions of people who are losing everything at this very moment. These are not statistics; these are real life stories. In particular they address the audiences of industrialized countries that take no responsibility for these disasters, and large social groups who live oblivious to the devastating consequences of their acts, and who disregard the risks of our current model of consumption.
In 2023, more than 50 million people will be forced to migrate because of climate change, the vast majority of them women and children. World leaders have to act against climate change now, or these fates will be repeated.
