She will be taking part in the Festival as a member of the jury, alongside Palestinian filmmaker <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mohamedjabaly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mohamed Jabaly<\/a><\/strong> and multidisciplinary artist <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/baloji\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baloji<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:71px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div>\n  <h2 class=\"block block-heading text-center layout-section\">Preview of the 2025 edition<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>An edition between anger and tenderness<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p>When confronted with the rise of far-right movements, breaches of international law, powerlessness in the face of the ongoing genocide in Gaza and other overlooked current conflicts, anger and indignation can act as driving forces for mobilisation. Yet, in order to combat inertia, not give in to paralysis, and collectively seek resources for thought, resistance and action, the 23rd edition of the FIFDH is also an invitation to reshape our societies through care, solidarity and empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ecbb19003f963c100eed02bc770b3cac\"><em>&#8220;In a world fractured by crises, this year&#8217;s programme exposes and denounces human rights violations, sometimes with anger, echoing the voices of the committed personalities invited to the FIFDH. But it also takes a step back, one that invites to raise our gaze and ask questions: how can we protect what makes us human, what brings us together? In its Swiss premiere, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/resources\/interview-en\/tv5-monde-linvite-x-fifdh-with-swiss-director-germinal-roaux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Germinal Roaux<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s latest feature film, <strong><em>Cosmos<\/em><\/strong>, delves into ageing, its successive transformations and the importance of emotional bonds. Drygas <\/strong>portrays 20th-century Europe by assembling images of passers-by in train stations, reflecting on the human cost of progress. To the rhythm of tracks and switches, the film questions: what path will humanity choose for itself? In <strong><em>Soundtrack to a Coup d&#8217;\u00c9tat <\/em><\/strong>by <strong>Johan Grimonprez<\/strong>, jazz and decolonisation intertwine to reveal Belgium\u2019s brutal colonial history and its efforts, with the help of the CIA, to hinder Congo\u2019s independence. Awarded at Sundance, this documentary was also shortlisted for the Oscars.
