The FIFDH&#8217;s Industry program, dedicated to forging impactful connections between filmmakers and influential figures from organizations, policymakers, and financiers, within Geneva&#8217;s global network and beyond, has concluded its sixth edition. This year&#8217;s edition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Welcomed over\u00a0<strong>200\u00a0impact participants<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>24\u00a0countries<\/strong>\u00a0for a series of global case studies, talks, training sessions and curated networking opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitated\u00a0<strong>one hundred twenty one-to-one meetings<\/strong>, matching potential partners on common social justice and environmental issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ran the<strong>\u00a0pitching session<\/strong>, giving\u00a0<strong>16 selected impact projects<\/strong> increased public exposure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presented the\u00a0<strong>Impact Africa: Community Screening Grant<\/strong>,\u00a0a new partnership between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sunshinecinema.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The StoryBoard Collective<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sunshinecinema.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sunshine Cinema<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>FIFDH<\/strong>, to grant 10,000 CHF, a solar-powered mobile projector plus a training programme to use it. It was presented to the film\u00a0<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/festival\/programme\/2024\/film\/between-the-rains\/\">Between the Rains<\/a><\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0by\u00a0Andrew H. Brown and\u00a0Moses Thuranira,\u00a0selected in the\u00a0festival\u00a0 competition.\u00a0Producer Samuel Ekomol received the grant.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brought to Geneva <strong>professionals from organisations<\/strong> such as OXFAM International (Belgium);\u00a0\u00a0the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN),\u00a0The Netherlands;\u00a0or ILO Brazil, \u2013 a unique opportunity to hear from those organisations\u00a0which\u00a0are producing short and feature films for their <strong>advocacy actions<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Received <strong>increased and new support from national and international partners<\/strong> including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geneve.ch\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">City of Geneva<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leenaards.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fondation Leenaards<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondation-haas.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Haas Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/rosalux-geneva.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rosa Luxembourg Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.storyboard-collective.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The StoryBoard Collective<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationphilanthropia.org\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Philanthropia Fondation<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bak.admin.ch\/bak\/en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Office for Culture<\/a> via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediadesk.ch\/a-propos-industrie-film-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Media Desk Suisse<\/a>, and the US-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fordfoundation.org\/work\/our-grants\/justfilms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ford Foundation<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/storyforimpact.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Resource for Impact &amp; Storytelling<\/a>, IRIS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And the winners of the Impact Days\u00a0are&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following our October 2023\u00a0open call we received 170 documentary impact projects from all around the world. Sixteen of these were selected to participate in our annual Impact Lab by a committee based in Colombia, Denmark, Jordan and Switzerland. The sixteen teams then worked online for several weeks with tutors from Colombia, Kenya, the UK\u00a0and France, to produce an\u00a0impact strategy and pitch for presentation to potential partners and funders in Geneva. The\u00a0<strong>StoryBoard Impact Award<\/strong>\u00a0of 10,000 CHF was presented to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/pro\/catalogue\/2024\/hakuchu-munayta\/\">Hakuchu Munayta<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Augusto Zegarra Pineda-Arce (Peru)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A young indigenous man is trying to save his language from extinction. His dream: to dub\u00a0The Lion King\u00a0into Quechua, the language of the Incas. It was awarded to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/pro\/catalogue\/2024\/brotherhood-of-weeping-men\/\">Brotherhood of Weeping Men<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Helena de Castro (Brazil)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For 30 years, on the isolated island of Fernando de Noronha, a group of men have been meeting every week to play football, eat and drink, and cry together. Similar to what they had done the day before (see above), <strong>Impact Africa: Community Screening Grant.\u00a0<\/strong>In partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/sunshinecinema.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sunshine Cinema<\/a>, they will grant 5,000 CHF + a solar-powered mobile projector + training to use it. It was presented to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/pro\/catalogue\/2024\/the-battle-for-laikipia\/\">The Battle for Laikipia<\/a><\/em><\/strong> by Peter Murimi (Kenya) and Daphne Matziaraki (Greece)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In some parts of Kenya, when it rains things are calm, and when it doesn\u2019t, there is violence. Climate change and an unresolved history raise the stakes in a generations-old conflict between indigenous pastoralists and landowners in a wildlife conservation haven.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Producer <strong>Toni Kamau <\/strong>and impact producer <strong>Elsie Kariuki<\/strong> were present in Geneva to pitch the impact campaign and receive the grant.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"block block-gallery
