The FIFDH\u2019s Industry programme, which facilitates impact alliances for filmmakers and key players in Geneva\u2019s international ecosystem of organisations, policymakers and funders, has just brought its fifth edition to a close. This year, the impact matchmaking event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Welcomed over&nbsp;<strong>150 impact participants<\/strong>&nbsp;from&nbsp;<strong>34 countries<\/strong>&nbsp;for a series of global case studies, talks, training sessions and curated networking opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitated over&nbsp;<strong>one hundred one-to-one meetings<\/strong>, matching potential partners on common social justice and environmental issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduced a new pitching event, giving&nbsp;<strong>16 selected impact<\/strong>&nbsp;projects increased public exposure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brought to Geneva, from each of the\u00a0<strong>5 continents<\/strong>, all 9 regional advisors of the Global Impact Producers&#8217; Alliance (GIPA) \u2013 a unique opportunity to hear from those who are shaping the field of Impact Production!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hosted an event for Swiss philanthropic organisations to introduce them to the notion and value of Impact Production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Received&nbsp;<strong>increased and new support from national and international partners<\/strong>&nbsp;including the City of Geneva, Fondation Leenaards, Haas Foundation, Rosa Luxembourg Foundation, StoryBoard Collective, the Federal Office for Culture via Media Desk Suisse, and the US-based International Resource for Impact &amp; Storytelling, IRIS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welcomed the Perspective Fund and Ford Foundation, who participated in person in Geneva for the first time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"block block-quote text-center col-xxl-10 mx-auto\">\n  \u201c&thinsp;My first experience of Impact Days has been exciting, because there are very few places where you have the opportunity to be seated next to someone from the UN, and a filmmaker, and a producer, and have these conversations about ways to advance and improve the conditions of human rights around the world.&thinsp;\u201d      <br>\n    <span class=\"fs-16 lh-xs\">Jon-Sesrie Goff, Program Officer\r\nJustFilms | Creativity and Free Expression Ford Foundation (USA)<\/span>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And the winners are&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following our October 2022 open call we received 110 documentary impact projects from all around the world. Sixteen of these were selected to participate in our annual Impact Lab by a committee based in Denmark, India, Mexico and South Africa. The sixteen teams then worked online for several weeks with tutors from Colombia, Kenya, Mexico and the United States, to produce a final impact strategy and pitch for presentation to potential partners and funders in Geneva. The&nbsp;<strong>StoryBoard Impact Campaign Award<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;10,000 CHF was presented to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=a72f70a04ea5c94e5e0b9bed0&amp;id=8eacb794e6&amp;e=4ac80b7072\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Name Is Happy<\/a><\/u><\/em><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">,<\/span> by Nick Read (UK) and Ayse Toprak (Turkey), the inspirational story of teenage singing sensation Mutlu Kaya as she makes a remarkable journey from gunshot victim to fearless survivor. The&nbsp;<strong>StoryBoard Impact Strategy and Planning Grant<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;2,500 CHF was presented to :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/en\/press-industry\/impact-days\/selected-projets-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Let&#8217;s Play Soldiers<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Mariam Al-Dhubhani (Yemen), an important story about Nasser, a 16 years old child soldier who, after returning home, wants to protect his two younger brothers from following his same path.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><div class=\"block block-image\">\n<figure>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/fifdh.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Image3_ActuImpactDays2023_2023-03-14_at_11.42.01_c66f2311ac.jpg\" class=\"attachment-md size-md\" alt=\"\" \/>    <figcaption><p><\/p><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><br>The&nbsp;<strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=a72f70a04ea5c94e5e0b9bed0&amp;id=a4ae64af2c&amp;e=4ac80b7072\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DOCS UP Fund<\/a><\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;awards 1,500 \u20ac to support an impact campaign, and provides consulting services for the duration of the film\u2019s editing phase. It was awarded to :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fifdh.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=a72f70a04ea5c94e5e0b9bed0&amp;id=4338954af6&amp;e=4ac80b7072\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Land of Women<\/a><\/em><\/u><\/strong>, by Aymar El Amir and Nada Riyadh (Egypt). The film follows a group of energetic and humorous young Coptic women who rebel against their society&#8217;s norms by forming an all-female street theatre troupe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"block block-quote text-center col-xxl-10 mx-auto\">\n  \u201c&thinsp;It\u2019s a unique environment of like-minded documentary makers, where we&#8217;re all interested in making a difference.
