A welcoming event from refugees in Geneva

In partnership with the Hospice Général, the FIFDH organizes free screenings, encounters and events in collective accommodation centres that provide housing for migrant people.

Three collective accommodation centres (CHC) that provide housing for migrant people will open their doors to the public (Presinge, Anières, Tattes). The Frank-Thomas Center joins an event at the Community Center of Eaux-Vives and the CHC of Saconnex will also hold an event.

The Festival program will host film screenings, Eritrean, Syrian, Somali and Afghan buffets, as well as discussions among guests of the festival, residents of the centres and the public. These events help to involve these centres in the local life and encourage encounters. Come meet new people!

Transport for the Festival will be organized for migrant people from the surrounding CHCs who do not have film screening sites (Appia, Feuillasse, Praille-Gavard, etc.) as well as for the participants of the reception centre of La Roseraie. A screening is also organized for the unaccompanied minors of the Etoile CHC.

Furthermore, the Festival and the Hospice Général will continue their partnership for the second year running in which residents of the collective accommodation centres are integrated into the FIFDH's volunteer team, order to encourage encounters between volunteers, the public and migrants.
