From 11 to 15 March 2019, the Festival programs educational screenings and debates conceived specially for classes of the secondary I and II. A unique opportunity to discover original documentaries and meet human rights defenders.
Starting in 2004, the Festival has organized an educational program for students from the canton of Geneva and its region. This programme has become an indispensable way of heightening awareness and mobilizing the attention of thousands of young people each year on issues linked to human rights violations.
Two youth juries will award prizes to films in competition. Furthermore, a workshop for young aspiring reporters will allow them to learn about the journalist trade and meet the Festival's guests. These two activities contribute to developing their cinematographic curiosity, a critical mind and an awareness of human rights issues.
This programme is organized in partnership with Amnesty International and in collaboration with the Fondation Eduki, Peace Brigades International, the Codap, the Musée International de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge, the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève and the Commission égalité du secondaire II, with the generous support of the Tamari Foundation.
