Masterclass Ala Eddine Slim

With every film, Ala Eddine Slim, a filmmaker of experiments and tangents, creates a labyrinthine and incredibly unique universe, almost entirely devoid of dialogue. Having directed several short films with his company, Exit Productions, he moved on to feature films with documentary Babylon in 2012, co-directed with Ismaël Chebbi and Youssef Chebbi and shot on the border between Tunisia and Libya. His first feature film The Last of Us (2016) received the Lion of the Future at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar, making Slim a significant figure in new Tunisian cinema. His latest film, Tlamess (2019), presented in its world premiere at the Directors' Fortnight, is a powerful tale of the wanderings of a soldier and a pregnant woman.
